Who is the kit designed for?
Our RecoverED kits are specially designed for high school students who have been impacted by a natural or human-induced disaster.
When should a student use the kit?
Out RecoverED kits are designed for use in the 1 to 6 month post-disaster recovery period. They are not intended for use in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, when attention should be focused on safety, survival and basic necessities (such as food and shelter).
What does the kit include?
The contents of the RecoverED kits are set out on the Kit HQ page.
How do the RecoverED kits help children with their learning?
The kits are designed to help students create a personalised learning environment, wherever they may be. By combining practical tools and devices (such as the screen maximiser in the case of Knowledge Nomad, and the mini projector in the case of Skill Surfer), the kits make it easier for a student to reengage with learning, their teachers and their peers in a simple way.
Are the RecoverED Kits suitable for use with special needs children?
While the kits are not specifically designed for special needs children, they contain a number of basic supplies that can be used by all children, such as pencils, notepads and pens. At RecoverED we believe in the right of all children, regarding of their circumstances, to have access to education.
Do the kits contain any digital resources?
The physical kits contain a QR code linking to this website. Once on this website, students can use the Other Helpful Links and Student Resources pages, which contain a number of helpful links to broader educational and other support materials.
Do I need a mobile device to use the kit?
A mobile device will allow you to access all elements of the kit, however the basic supplies (pens, pencils, calculator, whiteboard etc) can still be used without access to the RecoverED website.
How do I order a kit?
To make it easier to collate and distribute the Kits, kit orders are required to be logged by schools rather than by the individual student. Bulk deliveries of kits will then be coordinated with the local school to ensure that all students in need are able to access them.
How do I get request second-hand textbooks?
To make it easier to collate and distribute resources, textbook orders are required to be logged by schools rather than by the individual student. Please connect with your teacher or year coordinator to check if a request has already been lodged. If not, your school representative can make a request using this form.
I am having trouble getting my kit set up. Where do I go for help?
